Thursday Tidbits

This week’s Tidbits are budding with ways to make the most of Springtime’s longer days. Whether it’s time for wine (celebrate seasonal releases), BBQ on the waterfront (a sure sign of Spring), a sweet treat, or a beer (check out the new local brews on tap), these tidbits promise delicious deliverables—right on time.

Time for Wine:

  • Marchesi Vineyards Spring Wine Club Release will be on April 11th.

  • Sunshine Mill Winery has its Spring Wine Club Party in April as well, and there is still time to join their wine club to get the perks.

  • Domaine Pouillon has club wines ready for pickup. They’re open this weekend from 11-5; no reservations are needed!

  • Clyzm Wines will be celebrating their 2nd anniversary on Tuesday, March 25th featuring a secret pre-release wine plus empanadas by Chef Kelly Alexander.

  • Cathedral Ridge Winery is hosting an easter egg hunt for adults! When: April 12th, 12-1:30 pm. Tickets include lunch, a glass and bottle of wine, and a grown-up egg hunt!

Time for BBQ:

Grasslands Barbeque’s Hood River Grand Reopening is this Saturday, starting at 11:30, with a huge menu plus lots of frozen packaged food. They also have new spice rubs for sale! Check out the line-up at the food truck this Saturday.

Sweet Times:

Baseline Biscuits’ Cinna’ Biscuits are a sweet treat that’s available every day they’re open. That’s Thursday – Monday 7 am – 2 pm. They recommend it with a scoop of @mthoodcreamery ice cream!

Speaking of, Mt Hood Creamery is restocked with lots of great flavors to choose from, and they’re ready for the season! Open Thursday – Sunday 12-7, Friday and Saturday til 8.

Another place for sweet treats and Easter Eats is Packer Orchards. Stop by for farm-fresh cookies, cider donuts, and spring goodies made right there at the Orchards. Join them at The Farm Place for the Tulip Festival this April. Get tickets here.

Oregon Growers highlights a pear and blue cheese dip to try using their Lemon Pear Pate, @roguecreamery Smoked Blue Cheese, @durant_oregon Olive Oil, and a fresh loaf of bread from @pinestreetbakeryhoodriver.

And Beer Times:

Spring Beer Fest at Mt Hood Meadows is Saturday and Full Sail Brewing will be there pouring their Heather Canyon Kolsch and Shipwreck Double IPA. Afterward, head down the mountain to the Brew Pub and flash your pass or daily lift ticket to receive a discount.

In case you didn’t know, they also have a new beer, the Blonde & Boujee, a brut-style blonde ale brewed to benefit the Pink Boots Society, honoring women and non-binary individuals in brewing. Visit Full Sail on Communi-Tuesdays in March when your pints and plates help raise funds for their incredible work.

Ferment Brewing Company’s Female Alpha IPA is back in honor of the @pinkbootssociety. This bright, bold West Coast IPA is flavor-packed and brewed with purpose. Every pint supports educating and empowering women and non-binary individuals in the fermented beverage Industry. Join them in raising a glass to those shaping the future of beer!

Working Hands Fermentation has a new beer on tap: Introducing King Crimson Irish Red Lager. German Pilsner base malts with English/Irish roasted barley and extra dark crystal malts that give a toasted bread and biscuit character. It’s a deep, ruby color with a white head. Perfect for a Liter pour. German-style lagers meet Irish red ale! PROST!
